Flour Mill Process

Flour mill process involves a series of stages. The most fundamental equipment in this case is a flour mill. A flour mill is a machine that is used to grind grains to flour. The first step before any grain has to undergo before being processed to flour is cleaning. This involves removal of small seeds, straws and any foreign materials in the grains. A magnet is used to remove metallic objects and stones from the grains. The grains are then passed through air current so as to remove chuffs and dusts. The next step involves removal of impurities. This is done by using a color sorter which separates impurities by color. This process is important as it removes any waste material in the grain and increases the quality of the flour.
The grain is then conditioned by adding water to soften its skin. This is done to ensure that the grain reaches a desired level of moisture. This process is important because it helps prevent the grain from becoming powder. Before grinding the bran, the grain is split using steel rollers. The rollers re cuts the grain. And since there are two rollers, the top roller goes faster than the one at the bottom. The raw materials fed into the machine will stick at the bottom roller so that the roller on top which is faster and grinds them. The end product of flour mill process is flour which is sieved and packed.
